Recertified means the manufacturer took the drive back, tested it against its original specification, reset its usage counters, and resold it with a fresh warranty. It is not the same as a used or seller-refurbished drive, where testing and warranty come from the reseller. Check which one you are buying, because the word refurbished covers both.
