Hours alone predict failure poorly. Drives that survive their first year tend to run for years more, and a 30,000-hour drive that has been spinning continuously in a stable datacenter has had an easier life than a 5,000-hour drive that was power-cycled daily. Look at reallocated sectors and error counts before hours.
