No. RAID protects against a disk failing. It does not protect against deleting the wrong folder, ransomware, a failed controller writing garbage to every disk at once, fire, or theft. All of those propagate instantly across the array. RAID buys uptime; backups buy recovery. A lab needs both, and only one of them is optional.
