Between roughly 25 and 45 degrees Celsius is the comfortable band. Large-fleet reliability data shows no meaningful failure increase across most of that range, so chasing very low temperatures with loud fans buys little. Sustained operation above 50 degrees is worth fixing, usually with airflow across the drive cage rather than more fan speed.
